Whether you were a novice runner or a first time marathon attendee, the Run with Frederick 2017 was a great way to support our youth here at Liberty for Youth and at the same time start a journey of health and wellness, a good time was had by all.
The Run with Frederick 2017 was born out of the “Run for Youth” in 2016 when Frederick Dryden(ED), had ran 696.5km in 21 days from Ottawa to Hamilton. The loss of
two youth who has been previously in Liberty’s program and his passion and vision to create sustainability for the Liberty for Youth programming were his motivation to take on such an enormous task.
The Run with Frederick 2017 is our first annual run and we look forward to more successful years ahead. Of course, we could not do any of this without the Runner’s Den, Road2Hope Hamilton Marathon. Gord & Esther Pauls, owners of the Road2Hope have been more than generous to Liberty for Youth by giving us the platform we needed to hold a marathon. The Road2Hope Hamilton Marathon celebrated their 10th anniversary this year and what a privilege it was to join them with our first run.
We would like to THANK all of those who either participated OR sponsored the Run with Frederick. You helped make this the success it was and thanks to all of you we raised over $20,000.00!
We hope that you will join us again in 2018 and make it an even bigger event and help us reach our campaign goal of $650,000.00.
Early bird registration will be available soon so stay tuned!
