Teacher at Corpus Christi receiving MVP award from Liberty for Youth.

On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, Liberty for Youth founder and Executive Director, Frederick Dryden and Resource Development Officer, Billie Cedillos had the pleasure of visiting Corpus Christi Elementary School.

We had a great time sharing our new  “Liberty for Youth in 3D” presentation on Discovery, Development and Deployment. This is a new model where by we teach children and youth to discover their gifts and talents and how to develop them and then finally where they will eventually become deployed as successful students in post-secondary education and then later in their career path. Teaching children and youth the importance of education is a top priority at Liberty for Youth and at the same time teaching them the true value of kindness, compassion, integrity and generosity and how all these skills combined will lead them to a successful life both now and later on.

We also had the opportunity to engage the students at Corpus Christi for our “Run for Youth” coming up on October 14th, 2016. We had students(and the principal) up and running for the campaign as well.

Liberty for Youth had the opportunity and honour to present Mrs. Annabela Pimenta(teacher) with an award, MVP.

We recognize the important role that teachers play in the lives of young people and we are so grateful.

Thank you again to Principal Mr.Mielko and all the staff and students at Corpus Christi for having us

a student who would not normally come up in front of an audience, demonstrates courage by coming up to the front to participate in a fun quiz.

Train with Frederick 5KM/10KM Run at McMaster a great success!

On January 31st, 2016 Liberty for Youth held our “Train with Frederick Run” at the David Braley Athletic Center, McMaster University. This event helped raise over $700.00 towards our Run for Youth Campaign which will help create sustainability for every youth. We also had an amazing matching grant donated by the Hamilton Port Authority and Port Partners for $50,000.00!. We had over 40 participants come out including families, youth, community partners, staff(Liberty for Youth)and of course Frederick. Many participants ran, walked, jogged, and even strolled the 5 and 10KM, regardless of how participants chose to do the run, all had a great time and lots of fun. We also held a Silent Auction that had great gifts, including a Men’s Root’s track suit valued over $150.00 and won for $40.00. We would like to thank every participant, our amazing volunteers from RBC at Upper James and Mohawk Road in Hamilton, Hamilton Port Authority and their Port Partners, Laura Rogers from SNAP,Shauna(youth photographer fro Liberty for Youth), and everyone who made a donation to the Train with Frederick Run.
